When depression becomes severe depression then medical care is a must. Suicide often takes place in this final phase. The calls for help have gone unnoticed and the avenues for hope are slipping away. Treatment is typically ‘talk therapy’ and anti-depressants. There are also support groups that offer a helping hand.
